First Badge is free. It is not easy.

It is built for beginners, and it is built for students who show up. Read this with your family before you take the quiz.

  • 12 weeks, two days a week. Mondays and Tuesdays, 2:30–4:00 PM, Room 105, October 12 to January 15. Can't be there in person? Join the same session live on Zoom; ask Mr. James for the link. Every mission is also online, so a missed meeting can be made up from home.
  • Your crew counts on you. You join a crew of five with a student Crew Mentor. Crews were set on Thursday, October 15, and your crew scores when everyone finishes the week's mission.
  • Badges are earned, not given. Each zone challenge takes 85% to pass. Miss it, work through the Study Path with your Crew Mentor, then take your second try.
  • It ends with a real exam. CompTIA Tech+ in January: up to 70 questions in 60 minutes. The club covers the exam fee.
  • Your parent or guardian signs the permission slip (Step 3 below) before you join a crew.

Step 2 · Sign up

Create your account. Open to every Largo student.

  1. Create your account. First initial, last name, class year and a 6-digit PIN. No email, no password. Your quiz result comes with you.
  2. Build your skill card (two minutes). It's how we draft fair crews, so be honest; "new to it" is a real answer.
  3. Your parent or guardian signs the permission slip (Step 3), then show up in Room 105, Monday or Tuesday at 2:30.
