This week
Take the CompTIA Tech+ exam, celebrate at Badge Night, and find out which crew wins the Session 1 Cup.
Heads up
- Exam times are assigned one student at a time. Mr. James will tell you your date and time.
- Badge Night 1 is Tuesday, Jan 12. Families are welcome.
- The Session 1 Champion Crew is named Friday, Jan 15.
- Passed Tech+? Session 2 starts Monday, Jan 25, with Cisco CCST IT Support.
Read-aheads
The day before your exam (20 minutes, not more)
- Skim the Vocabulary from all six zones at firstbadge.org/briefs.
- Do one short set of study cards from your weakest zone. No new material.
- Pack what you need and get a full night of sleep.
Exam morning (5 minutes)
- Say the 7 troubleshooting steps once.
- Write the binary place values (128 to 1) in your head.
- Remember the plan: flag, answer, move on, come back.
Notes
During the exam
- Answer every question. A blank is always wrong; a guess might be right.
- Eliminate answers that are clearly wrong first, then choose between what's left.
- Don't change an answer unless you find a real reason.
After the exam
- Tell Mr. James your result the same day so it's recorded.
- Didn't pass yet? We'll make a plan together. The study work you did still counts.
- Passed? You hold an industry credential employers recognize. Come back for Session 2.

- Water and a snack for before and after
